Drake Maye has three TD passes in three straight games. In 2026 Topps Flagship Football, the Patriots spot is the Maye spot
Drake Maye threw three touchdown passes in the Patriots' 26–19 win over the Jets, his third straight game with at least three. Here's why the New England spot in CSL's Hobby-only 2026 Topps Flagship Football paper rip is really a Maye claim, plus Doubs and Henry ink.
Lead
Drake Maye threw three touchdown passes Sunday as the Patriots held off the Jets 26–19 in Foxborough. Per AP, it was his third straight game with at least three TD passes. New England did it after losing three offensive linemen during the game, and still didn't allow a sack (Patriots.com). If you want one quarterback to ride in Chrome Spot Lab's football break before Thursday night in Chicago, the New England Patriots spot is that lane. Be clear about what you're claiming, though: it's mostly Maye. His base, Golden Mirror and vet auto at #136 and his NFL Material relic, NFLM-DM, all sit on this spot.
Maye didn't oversell it. "It was sloppy. It wasn't clean," he said (AP). On the patched-together line: "They're fighting their butts off, and it goes through them."
Why the Patriots spot
On CSL's 2026 Topps Flagship Football Hobby break (tff26-hobby-12), you claim one of 32 NFL team spots and run a modeled paper rip. This is the first time we've written up the Patriots lane.
The board is concentrated, not deep: 4 vet autos + 2 relics, and no Flagship First Signatures auto for New England. One quarterback carries the ink and a relic. The rest of the chase follows Sunday's box score more closely than you'd expect, because two of Maye's three touchdown catchers have their own vet autos: Romeo Doubs (#74), who made a diving 42-yard catch, and Hunter Henry (#138), who caught a 7-yarder. Kayshon Boutte rounds out the ink at #242, and Kyle Williams has the other relic, NFLM-KW.
Maye also turns up on #282, base and Golden Mirror. That's a three-QB card with Trevor Lawrence (JAX) and Justin Herbert (LAC), so treat it as a shared card and not a Maye solo.
The Bears side, for contrast. Thursday's opponent carries more ink. The Chicago Bears spot on the same board has 7 autos + 2 relics: vet autos for Caleb Williams #35, D'Andre Swift #37, Luther Burden III #34, Rome Odunze #32, Kyle Monangai #33 and Montez Sweat #212, plus a Flagship First auto from rookie Zavion Thomas, FFS-ZTH. The relics are Burden's NFLM-LB and Colston Loveland's NFLM-CL. Sunday's Bears touchdown scorers Loveland and Swift are on it, and so is Burden, who led the team in receiving (our Burden Bears lane has more). So it's a straight choice: New England is the Maye lane, while Chicago puts ink on more names.
Proof under the feel (checklist footprint)
Card numbers come straight from CSL's normalized Flagship Football checklist (built from the Topps checklist):
CSL's published book for every Patriots row is still a rough yellow floor with no cited sales behind it, so read this table as chase feel, not a forecast.
Context under the feel (receipted only)
Maye finished 18 of 32 for 235 yards (AP). Those yards pushed his career total to 8,133, making him the 8th Patriots player to reach 8,000 passing yards, and the Doubs 42-yarder was his 10th touchdown pass of 30+ yards over the last two seasons, the most in the NFL (Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts have nine each), per Patriots.com. It was also the longest touchdown catch of Doubs' career. AP says Doubs left in the first quarter with a shoulder injury after the score and didn't return. New England led 17–3 at the half, and Henry's 7-yard catch finished a 12-play, 68-yard drive. Right tackle Morgan Moses (ankle), left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (hamstring) and right guard Ben Brown (knee) all left the game. The Patriots are 4–2, have won three straight, and are 2–0 in the AFC East. "None of us were at our best today, but we were good enough," Mike Vrabel said (AP).
Chicago is also 4–2. Caleb Williams came back Sunday from a three-game hamstring absence and went 30 of 36 for 305 yards, one TD and no turnovers in a 31–23 win at Atlanta (ChicagoBears.com). He opened 10 of 10, and the touchdown was a 14-yarder to Loveland on the opening drive. Swift ran for two scores, and Burden had a team-high 8 catches for 95 yards.
Next: Patriots at Bears, Thursday, Oct. 22, 7:15 p.m. CT, Soldier Field, Prime Video.
The claim stays Maye (+ Doubs, Henry) → Patriots lane.
